Grade 12 SL & HL
Grade 12 classes are now working on the unit Literature: Texts and Contexts unit. Each of the classes are working on different texts. Please check the relevant teacher’s blog or website for specific details. 12th Grade SL are finishing up with When the Elephants Dance by Tess Uriza Holthe. All SL classes will be writing a written task for this novel. Students will then be studying Perfume by Patrick Suskind.
HL classes have the extra assessment task Written Task 2. This will be completed during February.
Preparation for the final examinations will begin in late March. Assessment tasks associated with this preparation will continue through to the examination time.
Grade 11 SL & HL
Grade 11 classes are now working on the Literature unit. All HL classes are studying the following texts: 1984 by George Orwell, The Things They Carried by Tim O’Brien and Sonnets by William Shakespeare. SL classes are studying Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe and Macbeth by William Shakespeare.
The major assessment tasks that the students will be working towards include a Written Task and the Individual Oral Commentary (IOC) which will be held during the week of April 22-26. The grade 11 exam (mid-May) will be based on the Literature unit.
